February 16, 2008 – 10:05 amAfter a couple of posts and a question directed to the Rails-Core mailing list, it finally looks like the core team has explicitly favored one goal of scaffolding over the others. Scaffolding is supposed to be educational!
What does this mean? Well, for starters, it gives patch submitters and reviewers a target to shoot for. Patches to scaffolding should help new developers learn best practices.
Of course, this is still a little vague - best practices are rarely precisely defined - but it’s miles better than the earlier situation. So without further ado, let’s get patching!
