Puzzling out personality traits

Via collision detection, a British study on the relationship between your personality and your strategy when solving jigsaw puzzles.

I’ve always been a huge fan of jigsaw puzzles - my mom likes to tell the story of how my brother and I would sit at the kitchen counter when we were little, him playing with a matchbox car and me working on a puzzle. I’ve always been pretty good at them, too (remind me to tell you about the time I was identified as psychic because of my facility with the ol’ puzzle). I love me some jigsaw puzzles, so I’d certainly be interested to see what my methods say about my deeper psychological characteristics. Unfortunately, the BBC article linked above doesn’t have enough detail for me to pinpoint where I fall - I exhibit both “border-obsessive” and “opportunistic” traits fairly regularly - so I guess I’ll have to wait for the book. Alas, and back to my 5000-piece monstrosity…
