Cool employment news and crappy blog-like content
January 28, 2005 – 3:28 pmTwo things for today’s post:
1) I have a new job. W00t! In about three weeks, I’ll be starting work as an Application Technologist with Viget Labs, here in Northern Virginia. After nearly four and a half years with Nextel, it was time for a change, and I’m tremendously excited by the opportunity with Viget.
The decision to move to Viget was not without controversy, however; I also had a job offer from The Motley Fool - this one for a position as an Interface Designer. I really enjoyed interviewing at the Fool, meeting the members of the Design team, and seeing firsthand what a great atmosphere they’ve cultivated at their Old Town Alexandria location. I ended up declining their offer because I felt that Viget fit in better with my long-term career goals, but I sincerely feel that I could’ve been very happy at the Fool.
(I bring up the Fool’s offer to help them advertise it a little more - I know they’re still looking for an interface person, so if you’re in the NoVa/DC area and are excellent with XHTML/CSS/JavaScript, you could do worse than apply.)
2) Now this one, I don’t do so often - today, though, I figured - what the heck. My Friday Random Ten (I opened up the ol’ iTunes, set it to shuffle, and below you see the first ten songs it gave to me):
- How Soon Is Now? by Love Spit Love
- Almost Two Years (from the Alias: Season Two soundtrack) by Michael Giacchino
- Ever Fallen in Love by Pete Yorn
- Icon by Red Delicious
- Out of Control by Hoobastank
- The Game of Love by Santana
- The Wonders of You by Andy Hunter
- Learn to Crawl by Black Lab
- Mistreated by The Painkillers
- A Quiet Mind by Blue October
