Where’s Ben?
October 18, 2004 – 2:06 pmYou ever feel like you’re in one of those “Where’s Waldo?” pictures? Like you should be out there in front of everything, but you’ve somehow gotten lost in the muddle? That’s where I’ve been for the last month or so - especially with the runnin’. In a desperate attempt to break out of this downward spiral of not-running, I finally broke down and registered for my first 5k, on November 14th (yay!). Here’s hoping it keeps me motivated.
And for all those who’ve kept running while I’ve been gone - congratulations! You all rock - especially Marshall with his 50-miler, April-Anne with her half-marathon, Susan with her 5k, and Dianna with her marathon - woohoo!
(anybody else I’ve missed - I’m sorry! Congrats to you, too!)
Update: Ack! This is what I get when I’m not paying attention - I screwed up above and said Marshall’d racewalked a 50k; it was actually a 50-miler, so sorry for the mistake and even more congrats for the impressive distance!

Ohhh THERE’S Ben! Hi Ben! We’ve missed you…next time you should wear an orange shirt instead of the red and white striped one so we can find you easier!!

Hey, thanks for the shout out, and welcome back to the land of blogging! And good job signing up for a race! That’s always an awesome motivator.
(god, I’m so petty–it was 50 miles, not 50k; I hate myself for writing that, but I wouldn’t want your blog to be inaccurate!)

So how’s the running going, Ben?

Thanks for asking, Susan - I’m working back into my training schedule slowly. I did a total of 5 miles this weekend, and expect to pick it up a bit more this week (I better - the 5k is in like three weeks!). I’ll be posting about the next few runs, I’m sure.
