And we’re off
September 21, 2004 – 11:06 pmHurray! I didn’t get out this morning (ended up going into work early instead of braving the cold - Susan’s more courageous than I am. Once I got home, however, I laced up my shoes and hit the streets for a 2.5 mile loop around the neighborhood - no iPod, no Garmin, just me and the road. It was great to be back, though I could tell my running-fitness has suffered from the layoff.
I finished up the day with an hour of squash with Craig - he won, 4-2 (sigh). All in all, today was an excellent way to get back on the fitness track.

I’m glad it went well!! Some times the best runs are one the ones with out technology….leaving the stop watch and music at home.

I had a similar no-tech run last week. Kind of liberating.
And I’ve been going through a spate of getting a mile down the road and realizing I don’t have the iPod. That’s kind of upsetting, but I’ve used it to focus on my breathing.
