Quick run

I’ve reset my mileage goal for this week entirely given the wedding on Saturday - I’m aiming to hit 20 by Friday, and with the quick 3 I did last night, I’m sitting at 11.5 so far. I figure I can pull a couple of four milers tomorrow and Friday to round out the week and get pretty close to the target, or I can just go with the flow (as I’ve been doing the last few days) and run ’til I feel like stopping. Hey, it it’s not broken, right?

I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to run on Saturday. I’d like to do something in the morning - I’ve been told to sleep in (I normally wake up at 7 on the weekends) since the ceremony will be starting late, but I’m not a big fan of the sleeping in. Hmmm.

If it helps, I did something like an 8 miler on the morning of my wedding - and we had an evening ceremony too. It sure helped me… At the time, that was a personal best distance too. After that, I had breakfast tacos with some of the people who’d flown in for the wedding, then went to the gym and worked out with a couple of my groomsmen. I didn’t have any thing else to do that day, and it kept me from thinking too much.

  2. I ran with my best friend on the morning of her wedding, just two months ago…and she was really glad she got up and out the door that morning. Heck, she was all nervous and excited and not sleeping anyways. So I say GO! If you have a friend to run with, even better.

And, I also say: Holy cow! It’s here already!!! Congratulations!!!

I would definitely say…..go for the run! I can’t think of a better way of starting off one of the best days of your life.

OK, I’m convinced - I’m going to try to work in a run on the sly Saturday morning. I still can’t believe I’m getting married in less than 72 hours.

Umm… Posting might be light this weekend :)
