The title says it all, really - I did four good miles on the trail today. What’s more, I’m about thirty minutes from finishing my most recent audiobook on the old iPod (this one’s been slow since I ran for a week and a half without the ‘pod). Sometimes I think I get more excited picking out my next listen than I do while actually listening… Mmmm, choices.
I should try that. I started my distance walking (back when I was much heavier) by listening to AudioBooks and director’s commentary DVD tracks. Never thought about it for running, because I don’t like having my hearing blocked. It might be cool for treadmill time though, which I normally don’t enjoy for more than 10-15 minutes. Do you use Audible?
Sure do; I’ve got the base subscription, so I get one book and one periodical a month. I bought a couple of extra books at the beginning, so I should be good for listening material for a while.
Commentary tracks from DVDs? How’d you rip them?
My wife’s a big fan of Audible. I wish I could do audiobooks when I run. But I can’t. Listening to someone talking in normal breath just doesn’t seem fair when I’m gasping and heaving. The director’s tracks might be cool, though, especially for a movie I’ve already seen.
