March Version 2 Competition

Sunday, March 21st, 2004

It’s that time again - I just fired off my Version 2 entry for March, a redesign of the Cooperative Bug Isolation Project site.

This one was a lot of fun; this particular project allowed me to make a few design decisions that I would not normally get to experiment with. I’m in the midst of writing a post explaining some of those decisions (some of which may be mildly controversial). I’ll publish it here with the link to my entry once the submission period is closed.

Good luck to everyone else who enters this month!

Where there is no joy…. Ah, well, it’s on to hoping for next year, I guess.

Oooh, pretty!

I know nothing about it, but Long story; short pier is just gorgeous - especially in Firefox. Go look, now!

And the (February) winner is…

For the February, kick-off edition of the Version 2 competition, the winner is Bright Corner. They beat out Brian Benzinger and Minz Meyer in the final round of judging to take the prize. Once again, congratulations to all who entered - and especially to Bright Corner!

I’m looking forward to seeing how the entries for this month’s edition of the competition turn out. The candidate site isn’t quite so… friendly as is Project Gutenberg.

The first release candidate for PHP v5 is out. Download, test, send feedback, repeat. Should be a good one.
