Long overdue fix

March 30, 2004 – 6:44 pm

While browsing through my traffic logs, I recently became aware of a problem with the site that I’m somewhat embarassed to admit. As you may or may not have noticed, all of the individual entry pages had the same title (archives ¤ culann.com). The problems with this naming issue (often seen on dynamic sites) are most obvious to searchers; try running this search on Google. If all goes well, you’ll see a long list of individual entries from this blog. Now imagine (if it wasn’t the case when you looked at the search results) that all of these entries began with archives ¤ culann.com. Would you know where to begin looking for, well, anything?

Fear not for the future! I just added the code required to properly title each individual entry. Search engines should pick up on the new titles over the next few cycles (though how long that’ll take will vary according to your preferred site). Soon, my lapse of usability judgement will be memorialized only by this entry - and any cached copies of the site that are floating around out there.

Sorry, comments for this entry are closed at this time.
