For those upset by the (excellent) ruling of the Mass. Supreme Court:
- To those who think that marriage is traditionally between one man and one woman - what about traditionally (or currently) polyandrous and polygynous societies?
- To those who think it is necessary to blindly follow tradition - shall we return to the days when interracial marriage was forbidden by both tradition and law?
- To those who think that marriage is essentially a religious institution - should atheists, Taoists, deists, or other adherents of a faith not your own be allowed to marry?
- To those who think that marriage is based in procreation - should we ban marriages to infertile individuals (including postmenopausal women)?
- To those who think that less government is better - is not the intrusion of government into private affairs an egregious violation of your principles?
That is all.
