September 19, 2003 – 4:14 pmSo Isabel’s passed us by, and we’re still kicking. As storms go, it wasn’t too bad - it had dropped to tropical storm strength (winds under 75 mph) by the time it made it to DC, and as far as I know the strongest gusts we experienced were slower than 50 mph. Hugo and Fran were both significantly worse than that, if I remember correctly.
We lost power around 6 last night, and it just returned about 2 hours ago… Work shut down early yesterday and was entirely cancelled today due to power and water issues. Other than that, not a whole lot going on - I’m just overjoyed to be back in the modern world of electricity. Hurray!
