Long time no post
July 25, 2003 – 9:54 amOK, so it’s been a while - shoot me already (or as Nathan Detroit so morosely sings - sue me). What can I say, I’ve been a bit busy.
Regardless of that, however, I actually have a reason for posting now. Over the past few days, I’ve seen an embarassing number of web pages that look like they were built in the mid-90s - ugly graphics, no sense that the layout is designed at all, pages that scroll for days on end… And unfortunately, some of these pages have wonderful, useful, close-to-essential content. It’s such a pain to look at and use these sites, however, that their lack of a competent design becomes a real tragedy. Here’s my question: how would one go about offering to help redesign one of these sites? I mean, I don’t want to step on anyone’s toes (even if I had the time to pitch in), but every one of these pages is someone’s baby…
Dorothea Salo has run into this phenonemon, too. Something must be done!
