Jason Kottke’s pinned between the horns of a dilemma - “Who owns the conversation on my web site?”
I can’t even imagine the sort of traffic he’s seen (even on my intranet applications, for that matter). Guess that’s the power of the a-list.
Invisible Adjunct doesn’t really belong in the ‘Reading’ category (another mismatch? Egads!), but it is something that I and others need to take a peek at regularly - you can be sure I’ll be directing my grad school friends to it if nothing else.
So much to learn - the W3C has working groups on everything, it seems. The topic I’ve most recently stumbled upon is the
W3C Web Ontology (WebOnt) Working Group (OWL), which is meant to provide part of the foundation for the Semantic Web. Looks intriguing, but I don’t know if I have enough time to dig very deeply into it.
This is a little late, but Adrian Holovaty wrote a wrap-up post for hisFind The Web Editor’s Name And E-Mail Address Week project. He goes into some reasons why information might be made hard to find (some intentional, some perhaps not) and addresses them to some extent. All in all, this was a great project.
I’ve got an interview in approximately 20 minutes, and I’m starting to get that nervous feeling… Thankfully, though, it’s not as bad now as it was when I had my non-interview with the same guy last week - I realize now that my chances of obtaining the job are slim, and I’m not sure how much of the work that I enjoy (development) I’ll have to give up if I get the new position. We’ll see, though.
I’m just looking forward to making it through so I can change out of the monkey suit.
