Argh

March 4, 2003 – 11:49 am

Frustration is an unpleasant (but as of late, all too common) emotion. Two things have conspired today to frustrate me:

1) I’ve been getting calls since Sunday about something that’s totally out of my control. A server’s IP was changed over the weekend and one email address from our notification tool no longer works. I keep telling the guy that the problem is with the routing of the mail - we don’t USE IPs. Argh!

2) After several weeks of meetings and demos to determine if our bug-tracking tool is suitable for use by our new neighbors (it is, supposedly), I get called over to yet again demo parts of the system. In the course of the demo, they start asking questions about significant functionality changes that (I get the impression) will be necessary for them to really use the system. Good thing we found that out early in the process, isn’t it?

Geez. New job, anyone? Of course, I’ll get the same frustrations there - but at least at the beginning everything will be fresh and new.
